Transports GRAVELEAU open a brand new branch in the commune of LUDRES

Friday, 19 October 2001: the date at which Transports GRAVELEAU intend to open a brand new branch in the commune of LUDRES, built on an area of 37,152 sq.m., in the FLEVILLE SUD industrial park.

The Euro 3.2 million investment will allow the carrier to increase its working area to 4,000 sq.m. (as against the previous 1,750 sq.m.), serviced by 50 door-to-pier containers. The new facility, which also includes 930 sq.m. of office space, should enable the 66-strong local team to assist the national and international development of its customers under optimum quality and safety conditions.

GRAVELEAU's relationship with the Nancy Region goes back a long way, as summarised below:

1974 : First foray into the field under the name E.T.S. (Express Transports Service), Company taken over by GRAVELEAU in the same year.
1979 : Decision to invest in the construction of a branch at LUDRES, comprising 1,200 sq.m. of handling platforms and 400 sq.m. of office space.
1990 : 550 sq.m. platform extension
2001 : Driven by the growth crisis, decision to build the current new branch

“In 27 years of commercial presence in the Nancy Region – explained Philippe TARDIEU, Joël GRAVELEAU's successor as Company Chairman, the NANCY branch has put together a national and international service offering, enabling local manufacturers to market their products, by road, all over France, Europe and beyond. Interesting to note that GRAVELEAU, which have 64 sitings around the world, including 52 in France, are also present in METZ, STRASBOURG and MULHOUSE in EASTERN FRANCE (i.e. accounting for a total of 189 jobs).”
