GRAVELEAU: introduce the CE. M. A. FOR training centre for handling operators

CE. M. A. FOR is the name given to the first GRAVELEAU Training Centre and stands for "CEntre des Métiers, de l’Apprentissage et de la FORmation GRAVELEAU"/GRAVELEAU Trade, Apprenticeship and Training Centre. The centre is aimed at HANDLING OPERATORS whose "professionalism – GRAVELEAU tells us – is a pivotal element in service quality and therefore customer satisfaction".

Other considerations have also influenced GRAVELEAU's choice; considerations linked to the economic climate, such as problems with the recruitment of qualified staff and the desire to promote the status of the job of handling operator through increased professionalism.

Hence the idea of creating a Training Centre designed to assist, integrate and train handling operators. Based in the Paris Region, CE. M. A. FOR sets out to provide assistance to all new handling operators, including temporary and fixed-term contract staff, via a compulsory 3-day training course.

CE. M. A. FOR is therefore a compulsory stage in the training of all newly-recruited handling operators to help them to become immersed in the Company. Alternating between theory and practice, the training course explains all the facets of a handling operator's job and includes a day's work experience in a local GRAVELEAU branch. The handling operator's immediate superior is invited to co-ordinate every training session.

For the time being devoted exclusively to handling operators, CE. M. A. FOR may well, in the future, extend its sights to other activities in the Company, based on the same desire to increase the professionalism of the Company's human resources, thus helping it to achieve a quality of service that customers have come to expect.
